This group studies a series of short topics focusing on particular historical developments in any period.
Topics recently covered include:
- UK political crises 1922 and 2022
- League of Nations to United Nations comparison
- Defeat of the KMS battleship Bismarck
Possible future subjects:
- Transformation of the Roman Republic to Empire
- The Peasants' Revolt
- Dissolution of the Monastries and the break with Rome
- Henry VIII's development of the English Navy
- Napoleonic contribution to European civil development
I'd be hoping for group members to undertake research into these or other subjects of group interest, so that meetings can evolve into discussions as much as lectures by individuals.
